The most significant area you can save weight is your tent, your sleeping bag, and your sleeping mattress system.

Lightweight Camping Gear for Motorcycles

01. Best Motorcycle Camping Tent – Naturehike Taga 1 Person Tent

We’ve used all types of tents, two-person hiking tents, tent for motorcycle camping. When saving space to keep the weight down, a well-built single person backpacking tent is the best choice. They pack down to a tiny stuff sack and weigh anywhere from 1 to 3 pounds. Just make sure it has enough room for you and your camping gear in case it rains. Once you’ve got a nylon roof over your head, you’re going to need to be comfortable when it comes time to sleep. The best part, it all fits in a small stuff sack and is very lightweight. It’s also helpful to have an inflatable pillow.

This motorcycle camping tent is a perfect option for minimalist motorcycle camping gear list. That is about the kilo. You’re looking at five-six hundred dollars, and this was only a hundred and twenty dollars.

The less weight you add to your bike, the better the effect on your motorcycle suspension and handling will be far less, allowing you to ride better for longer.

02. Sleeping With Motorcycle – Klymit Static V Luxe sleeping pad

Inflatable Sleeping Pad for Camping

Klymit Insulated Static V Luxe Inflatable Sleeping Pad

Our recommendation of the sleeping mat is the Klymit Static V Luxe insulated version. It’s fairly insulator, which is excellent for those cold nights. This sleeping pad is the extended and extra-wide version that’s why it’s such big size for an inflatable mat. This sleeping pad is a bit of a luxury item for me. You can go much cheaper than this. And get a foam type deal, or you could even use like a Mylarthing for insulating your camping tent. But I find this is a lovely item it just makes sleeping much much more comfortable especially when you’ve got an insulated version, and it’s cold.

03. Motorcycle Camping Sleeping Bag – Denali Capsule 300 Sleeping Bag

Sleeping Bag for Adults; Lightweight Camping

We have added Denali Capsule 300 sleeping bag to our motorcycle camping gear list just because you can’t beat it for warmth versus weight. I do have a couple of synthetic sleeping bags which are excellent. But they’re sized to wait they’re much more bulky for the same amount of warmth.

Plenty of options to comfortable your motorcycle camping gear list

Now that we have the housing and sleeping covered. Let’s move to some luxury camping gears. The first one is a small foldable chair for lounging around the campfire. These aluminium and nylon chairs are sturdy enough to hold up to 260 pounds.

Helinox Chair One

Lightweight, Compact, Collapsible Camping Chair

Helinox chair one weighs in at about a kilo maybe a smidgen over. Helinox does make a folding chair for motorcycle camping that’s a few hundred grams lighter than this. Check their newest folding chairs. I particularly like this one because it’s got hooks. So I can attach it to the outside of my bag. Even if you run out of space, you can pack this on top and not worry about it too much.

05. Motorcycle Camping Cooking Gear – Toak Titanium 1300ml Pot

TOAKS Titanium 1300ml Pot with Pan

Rounded bottom edges make cleaning easy and improves heating efficiency

As far as I’ve researched, Toak are the cheapest manufacturer of decent titanium cookware. This one’s probably a little bigger than you need for one person. Another great thing is the lid also turns into a small fry pan so if you wanted to cook yourself some eggs or something that works very well for that.

Titanium leeches far less harmful chemicals into your food the aluminium after a while if you get through that enamel plating can be toxic. So titanium is far better for you to health-wise.

07. Tyvek Groundsheet for motorcycle camping

2m (2.2 Yards) of Tyvek 43gsm 1443R Kitemaking Material | Durable, Strong, Lightweight, Breathable

Tyvek traditionally used to line the outside of houses when they’re building the homes to keep them dry and out of the weather. The benefits of this are it’s super lightweight camp gear. This groundsheet is only over a hundred grams so it’s very light and it’s very durable.

You can chuck this down, and no sticks or prickles are going to get through and ruin the floor of your camping tent. The benefit of this is it’s far cheaper, and it’s also far more durable than the traditional lightweight tent groundsheets.

I don’t trust them for protecting the bottom of my tent, so I have chosen bubble wrap backing. It’s my tent insulation. If it’s a cold night, I take this with me, and it keeps me pretty damn war.

08. Motor Camping Hammock

Portable Hammock Single or Double Hammock Camping

Next one is a hammock. These things are killer to relax on after a hard day riding. Ripstop parachute nylon makes most of the camping hammock, and they don’t take up much space at all.

09. LED Headlamp

OPTIMAL VENTURES LED

Broadbeam LED Headlamp, Ultra-Low Profile Durable Elastic Headband

You’re going to need to be able to see once it gets dark. A LED headlamp doesn’t take up too much space in your bag, and it’s useful for camp work and bike maintenance. We also recommend to bring along a small battery-powered lantern.

10. Camping Gear List

  • Power bank to charge your phone and electronics.
  • Little pocket knife
  • Tiny small towel
  • Bug spray
  • First-aid kit
  • Little burner
  • Antibacterial wipes (To keep everything clean)
  • Enough water
  • Obvious stuff toothbrush and toothpaste

Finally, You need to eat and drink. I like to keep it simple with fruit snack bars and dehydrated meals. Cook your meals a Jet boil is the way to go. It brings water to a boil very quickly for all those meals in a bag. This particular model also has a French press for coffee as well, but it can be a pain to clean up afterward. But I think the trade-off is worth it.

I’ve also selected a gas burner and pot set up if I feel like bringing canned soup or chili instead of dehydrated. Don’t forget a folding spoon and fork.

Please keep it simple, and keep it lightweight to get the most out of your riding without giving up any comfort at the end of the trail.
